About Us

Created by the students of the Event Logistics class at Thompson Rivers University based in Kamloops, Canada, The PAW Festival is an event dedicated to providing pet owners and animal lovers alike with the chance to learn more about animal welfare, including topics such as pet care, adoption, obedience training, nutrition, and much more.

Our Partners

Angel's Animal Rescue

The company, founded in 2008 under the leadership of Judanna Dawn, is dedicated to rescuing animals that have been abused or left on the street. The company accepts donations and recruits volunteers to its work, which gives hope for a happy life for hundreds of pets.

Our Speakers

Meet Kate!

They are a 22 year old student dog trainer living on the coast of Vancouver Island with their partner and animals; Summit, Aspen, Calypso and Luna. They began studying under Jean Donaldson’s Academy for Dog Trainers in January 2021 and are on track to graduate in 2023.

Jaeden has always had a strong passion for animals. To date, her and her family have been owners of hamsters, dogs, cats, fish, a bearded dragon, a leopard gecko, a skinny pig and a bunny. She has also taken care of a conure, volunteered at a horse farm for 4 years and spent 2 years working at Petland in Red Deer, Alberta.

Dr. Em is a veterinarian who grew up and attended undergrad in northern British Columbia before going to The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation in 2012, Dr. Em moved back to western Canada to start practicing and has continued to develop her interest in behaviour modification.
